Spade Kayaks

testCenter

Buying a kayak is never as easy as it first sounds like. Reading reviews and asking the opinion of professionals, or friends can help you a lot in the decision, but we all have different tastes when it comes to kayaks.

If you sit in a kayak in the shop you can decide if you like the fitting, the design and the sitting position, but it doesn’t give you an idea how this kayak is going to behave in whitewater.

To help you with the decision process we opened a test center with Spade Kayaks together.

The Black Jack

T H E J A C K O F ALL TRADES

The Black Jack is a modern white water kayak that perfectly bridges the gap between a river runner and a creek boat. Optimal volume distribution and plenty of rocker ensure a dry ride and provide all the stability you would expect from a modern creek boat. A semi flat hull and pronounced edges enable great control and maneuverability at all times. The wide ends give you enough surface for nice skip outs, but we kept them slicy enough to make it easier to correct your line or to rock your nose up when you put it on the edge.

Queen Of Hearts

F O R L I G H T P A D D L E R S A N D YOUNGSTERS

After our successful Black Jack and Royal Flush models, we now wanted to build a boat that would make the full performance of these two designs accessible to the featherweights among us. With a width of 62cm, a length of 250cm and a volume of approx. 245 liters, the Queen Of Hearts brings light paddlers and youngsters between 35 and 70kg the driving fun that we love so much about Black Jack and Royal Flush. A low coaming edge and the slim line enable quick edge changes and the implementation of a solid stroke technique. The balanced waterline and decent bow rocker ensure the optimal balance of speed, directional stability and maneuverability. The nose always stays dry! Whether on the Upper Isar, a cruise on the Soca, or to plunge into Piemont. The Queen of Hearts has been washed with all waters.
